Butter Horns

  • 2 cups Sifted Flour
  • 1/2lb Softened Butter
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • 3/4 cups Sour Cream
  • 3/4 cups Sugar
  • 3/4 cups Finely Chopped Pecans
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • Confectioners Sugar
  • Confectioners Sugar


Cut butter into flour and then add the egg yolk and sour cream.
Mix thoroughly and shape into a disc.
Sprinkle dough disc with flour and wrap in wax paper.
Chill several hours or overnight.
Mix together sugar, pecans, and cinnamon. Set aside.
Forming Cookies
Sprinkle a board with flour.
Remove dough from refrigerator and and divide into six equal parts.
Roll dough out on the board, one part at a time, making a large circle about 1/8 inch thick.
Sprinkle about 1/4 cup of the filling on the rolled dough circle.
Cut the circle in about 10 equal wedges.
Roll each wedge, starting at the widest end and place on cookie sheet.
Bake in 375 degree oven for 20 minutes or until light brown.
Cool on rack and sprinkle with powdered confectioners sugar.
