Thursday was super busy with meetings before our 10:30am departure for DFW. Check-in took forever since we had to add a lock to our gun cases. Then the TSA security lane was under construction so we had to go to another one. Once on the plane, things went pretty smooth and of course at TPA, things were fabulous. Even though super busy, Eda have me a hug and kiss. John was on x-ray. Of course, the folks at Alamo were fabulous to Carlos, finding him a white Dodge Ram. We worked Friday and the pool heater guy checked out the system. We went to LCDP in the afternoon for bread and learned that Katia is pregnant, due Jun 4.
I was a kid with a summer birthday. I loved this. Not only was I on summer vacation from school, but my birthday is nearly 6 months from that other major gifting holiday, Christmas. For as long as I can remember, when asked what I wanted to do for my birthday, the answer was the same. As a true child born under a water sign, I wanted to go to the lake. We’re still trying to figure out where we are here, on my 9th birthday.
Some highlights have included the usa sweep of the men’s slopestyle skiing and the usa win over Russia in the preliminary hockey round. During the opening ceremony, one of the mechanical stars did not open fully into a ring, hence the background in the image below. We really enjoyed the Paralympic TV coverage and especially watching USA Sled hockey win GOLD! It was our friend Taylor’s third Paralympics, and he won another gold!
