This time I made the fleece jacket, view D, in a size 14, so that I can actually wear it!
Material – Anti pill fleece fabric in charcoal (2.125 YRD, $9.54) – 100% Polyester, Mach. Wash cold, delicate, no bleach, tumble dry low, 58″ wide.
Thread – Coats Dual Duty XP® General Purpose Thread Charcoal (0850).
Buttons – JHB Chilliwack (92448), Color Black Silver, Size 7/8″, Material Metal.
Completed my second Amy Butler bedside organizer, first this year, with material from CityCraft. This will fit a king bed, but the deck can be folded to use on a smaller width bed. These organizers are very useful if you do not have nightstands or bedside tables. Keeps everything at your fingertips – reading material, phone, music, glasses, lip balm…
The latest sewing project is finally finished. In an attempt to determine which pattern size I should be using for myself, I used some fabric I bought 20 years ago to make a warm weather dress. I think it is a woven cotton material and I know after using it that it ravels like crazy. I used the size 14 curvy pattern, view B, with a few modifications:
- Lengthened the back slightly; will need to modify more on future projects.
- Made a very narrow hem in an attempt to lengthen.
- Attached velcro to belt to allow the buckle to be changed.
The results are good and I’m impressed with the fit. Click on a thumbnail below to see full image.
Just completed sage fleece jacket sewing project using Simplicity 4032 pattern in size 10. I was halfway through before I realized that a pattern size 10 was much smaller than a ready-to-wear size 10!
